Ms. Naziya Mahamdul Shaikh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Data Science and Computational Studies and serves as the Assistant Controller of Examinations at Government of Goa’s College of Multidisciplinary Studies and Research, Margao-Goa. She holds a Master of Engineering (M.E.) degree and has qualified both the UGC-NET and SET examinations. With over seven years of teaching experience, she has been associated with higher education since 2019.

Her academic interests include Data Analytics and Natural Language Processing, and she has taught a wide range of undergraduate courses, including Database Management Systems, Algorithm Design and Problem Solving, Multimedia Techniques, Introduction to Web Designing, Machine Learning, Data Structures for Data Science, and Python Programming.

As Assistant Controller of Examinations, Ms. Shaikh plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient planning, coordination, and conduct of examinations. Her responsibilities include preparing examination timetables, designing examination paper patterns for the Data Science programme, organizing seating arrangements, supervising examination processes, coordinating the secure handling of question papers, overseeing the configuration and management of the examination portal, resolving internal assessment marks-related issues, verifying Semester-End Examination results, coordinating with the technical team to address examination portal issues, organizing practical examinations, and updating students’ academic records to the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC). She also serves as Chairperson for the evaluation of B.Sc. examination papers, contributing to the maintenance of transparency, accuracy, and academic integrity in the examination system.

In addition to her academic and administrative responsibilities, Ms. Shaikh has also served as the Convener of the Women’s Welfare and Empowerment Cell, actively promoting initiatives aimed at gender sensitization, student welfare, and the empowerment of women on campus. Her dedication to academic excellence, efficient examination management, and student support has made her an integral member of the institution’s academic administration.
