Dr. Elizabeth Joey Henriques is Professor and Head of the Department of Economics at Government of Goa’s College of Multidisciplinary Studies and Research, Margao-Goa. With more than three decades of distinguished experience in higher education, she has made significant contributions to teaching, research, curriculum development, and academic administration.
She holds a Ph.D. in Economics, and her doctoral research, “Microcredit and Self-Help Groups: An Impact Study with Reference to Goa,” critically examined the impact of microfinance and self-help groups on socio-economic development in Goa.
Dr. Henriques has served as Co-Investigator for a UGC-sponsored Major Research Project and has published numerous research papers in reputed national and international peer-reviewed journals. She has also co-authored two books and edited five academic volumes, reflecting her sustained commitment to scholarly research and knowledge dissemination.
As Head of the Department, she has played a pivotal role in the design and development of undergraduate Economics curricula, ensuring alignment with contemporary academic standards, institutional objectives, and evolving educational needs.
In addition to her academic responsibilities, Dr. Henriques currently serves as the Coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Dean, Academic of the College, where she actively contributes to quality assurance, academic planning, institutional development, and the effective implementation of higher education reforms.
