In pursuance of the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC) on Refund of Fees and Non-Retention of Original Certificates (October 2018) and subsequent notifications applicable for the academic session and onwards, the following Fee Refund Policy is hereby adopted and implemented by the Government of Goa’s Autonomous College of Multidisciplinary Studies and Research, Margao–Goa, with immediate effect.
1. Applicability
This policy shall be applicable to all Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma, and Certificate programmes offered by the College for all academic sessions unless revised by competent authority.
2. General Provisions
- Refund of fees shall be processed only upon submission of a written application by the student.
- All eligible refunds shall be made within 15 days from the date of receipt of the application.
- Caution money and security deposits, if any, shall be refunded in full.
- The College shall not retain original academic or personal certificates of students under any circumstances.
3. Refund Structure
A. As per Current UGC Directions (Cut-off Based Refund)
a. Up to the notified cut-off date (e.g., 30th September):
Full refund (100%) of fees.
b. Up to 31st October (or notified extended date):
Full refund of fees after deduction of a processing charge not exceeding ₹1,000.
B. After Cut-off Date (As per UGC Notification, 2018)

4. Processing Charges
- A deduction of up to 5% of fees, subject to a maximum of ₹5,000, may be applicable as per UGC provisions.
- In specific notified periods, deduction shall not exceed ₹1,000.
5. Mode of Refund
All refunds shall be made through:
a. Bank Transfer (NEFT/RTGS), or Account Payee Cheque. No cash transactions shall be permitted.
6. Grievance Redressal
Any grievance related to fee refund shall be addressed through the College Grievance Redressal Mechanism (GRM) in accordance with UGC Regulations. All complaints shall ordinarily be resolved within 30 days.
7. Effective Date
This Office Order shall come into force with immediate effect and shall remain applicable until further orders.
Important Note
- The refund policy is subject to revision as per UGC or Government of Goa directives.
- Students are advised to carefully note admission deadlines to avail maximum refund benefits.
